Port Coquitlam is mostly detached family housing on manageable lots, which makes it one of the more straightforward cities we work in. Citadel Heights, Mary Hill, Birchland Manor and Riverwood are all two-storey suburban homes with accessible glass — the kind of job we can quote accurately and turn around efficiently.
The local wrinkle is water. PoCo sits in the floodplain where the Coquitlam and Pitt rivers meet the Fraser, and much of the city is flat, low and damp. The river flats hold moisture, and moss grows readily in gutters and along shaded north elevations. Moss in a gutter blocks flow more stubbornly than leaves do.
Most PoCo homes are conventional two-storey builds on level lots, which keeps window cleaning efficient and quotes predictable.
The Citadel and Mary Hill areas sit higher with more grade, so access there needs a little more thought than the flats.
